Not sure.  I’ve seen people joke about it at least.  Maybe because it’s the only way protesters practically interfere with the daily functioning of their lives?  At least one ambulance has been blocked, though the use of lethal force to disrupt traffic-blocking protests would almost certainly increase net casualties.

I still contend that America is simply not competent enough to enact (as in justify) restriction policies on the level of soft authoritarian countries in Asia.

Fascists can juke and dance all they want but if they can’t get the majority vote of POCs and women I’m not seeing a long-term future for them. Those numbers make for a very high and deep wall.

The definition of White has expanded in previous eras.  Trump’s goal of reducing immigration will help slow the rate of demographic transition, which will help the right-wing since many immigrants often slowly become more anti-immigration over time.

There are two other options, which can potentially be pursued simultaneously.

  • Expand the definition of White again, possibly to include Asians, particularly East Asians, but others would be necessary to meet the population goals.  This depends on the SJ Left backstabbing them, but that process has already begun over race and academics, much like the SJ Left has started to value cis gay men less.  Expanding the definition of “White” is what prevented some demographic flip last time.
  • Separatism.  We’re already seeing some inklings of this on the Left.

The backlash in terms of people rightfully decrying CNN and raising cain, I think that’s a very good thing. Obviously the more extreme response I don’t condone, much in the same way I don’t condone a bear eating the drunk moron who tries to wrestle it. But much like trying to wrestle a bear while shitfaced, trying to police public discourse in the age of the internet has consequences, and reporters are not magically immune to the consequences of their extremely poor decisions.

We teach people that freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. We seem to forget, however, that the same thing applies to freedom of the press.

What neither side of US politics wants to admit: the promotion of identity politics combined with the declining white super majority has led to turbo charged white identity politics. Since Dems catered for non-white identity politics, Trump and the GOP took hold of white identity politics.  

Most countries that do not have a 70%+ super majority ethnic group have ethnicized electoral politics.

I’m an anarchosocialist, not a neolib. Don’t “*I* will be forced to fight them” me, like you’re some kind of hero. Their ideology is already out of date for being morally wrong, saying genetic technology is what will end them implies that the genetic “problems” they present actually need solutions. Violence against fascists is the only option against fascists. They cannot be debated since their ideology is grounded in hatred not logic, they cannot be appeased as they will always ask for more, they have to brutally crushed/scared into disbanding. 
And while fascism is rising in America, antifascism is rising much faster, and hopefully they will come to an inevitable conflict in which fascism is finally wiped from the earth. 

  1. The strategy of street fighting the Fascists in Germany failed so badly that Hitler came to power and nearly took over Europe.  If he had been a bit more competent he might have succeeded and the Third Reich could still exist today.  This strategy has already been tried, and it already failed.
  2. Antifa have pepper-sprayed bitcoin enthusiasts, destroyed immigrants’ cars, harassed business students, and so on.  If the violence were limited to just actual fascists/WNs it would probably be possible to get away with it.  It isn’t.  Instead it’s playing right into the hands of groups who say that “no white is safe”.  By all appearances, Antifa like punching and the feel of righteous indignation more than they value actually bothering to check who is and is not an actual Nazi before punching them.  This makes people who are not Nazis suddenly very concerned about the safety of Nazis.
  3. If someone is converted to Fascism, there is no reason to think they cannot be deconverted from Fascism.  There have already been very successful attempts to deconvert Klansmen, who you would very likely claim are also motivated entirely by hatred and must be destroyed by force.  Deconversion is morally preferable to extermination and also results in ideological evaporative cooling, leaving only the craziest members who will seem less credible.
  4. Deconverting them requires the ability to make credible claims that there is not a plan afoot to demographically replace them.  You, and the Democratic Party, cannot effectively make this claim.  You probably think that the rise of Trump is a scathing indictment of American racism, and not the result of a direct correlation between premature death rates for middle-aged whites and % Trump votes on a county-by-county basis.  There are a number of large holes for rival ideologies to exploit which could have been prevented entirely by buying off the white working class (and so on), but the Left was not politically willing to pay the cost of closing them.  The mainstream Republican establishment wasn’t willing to pay them either, which is why they got knocked over like a bunch of bowling pins by a populist with little political experience.
    1. Not to mention that a lot of the pro-diversity ideology is contradictory or implicitly accepts some of their frame, as I have specified.  People can notice the hypocrisy.  It went under the radar when there was less stress in the system, and in fact I quietly supported keeping it under the radar in order to keep the amount of racism low (this is after all a multiracial country), but all of these terrorist attacks in the West have blown the lid off.  New ideological tools must be developed to repair the situation.
    2. Speaking of ideological tools, some old ones must be revived.  The cultural mosaic model creates ethnic tensions.  It’s time to explicitly bring back Melting Pot.  Not bringing it back just gives people reason to wage culture war for the supremacy of their own culture.
  5. With advances in genetic technology, white nationalism becomes largely obsolete not just on the premises of its opponents, but on its own premises.  Most ideologues these days are not effectively dealing with the looming spectre of Transhumanism that is due to arrive within decades.  Nervous-system-controlled robotic limbs, vat-grown organs, and genetic selection technology are already here, they just aren’t up to par yet.  Most ideologies will have to be changed significantly to accommodate.  The reason I brought this up is because, while it’s a weakness for the mainstream, it’s a much more glaring weakness for WNs that is not being adequately exploited.

I actually suspect that the switch to identity politics over class politics may have been based on a growing ineffectiveness of class politics.

“BUT THE POOR!” lost ground as more cached arguments were built up against it, even if it wasn’t entirely justified.

“BUT RACISM!” still had a lot of bite and could circumvent some of those cached arguments.  So, it’s natural to shift to it and build the platform around it.

It had a lot of bite, anyway.

There was always the focus on what was morally right, even in the minds of people who claimed they didn’t believe in morality, over what was effective policy, so now we get a lot of talk about guilt, or about pie in the sky ideas of “dismantling the systems of X oppression requires dismantling capitalism” (and people remember how “we need to dismantle capitalism” went last time), and not so much about “we should distribute multivitamins to the poor.”

I mean, that does sometimes get through, but the zeitgeist doesn’t seem to care about it as much as it cares about language policing and thinks that beneficial policies will just naturally unfold once everyone acknowledges their sin.

I just saw an article last week suggesting that using identity politics in the US was a bad plan because the majority can practice identity politics, too, and the definition of “white” has expanded in the past.

I’m pretty hyped.  What exciting new races or ethnic groups will be considered “white” in the future?  Could Asian-Latin fusion cuisine become the next official white people food?  When will they be issued their official White Man™ polo shirts?

Name one instance of immune system function that has not lead to microscopic violence.

To put it simply, in this world, an ideology can only be physically instantiated if a sufficiently large, well-armed, well-organized, and well-resourced group are willing to literally fight to the death to ensure it is so.  They may not actually have to fight to the death, but the credibility of the threat must be there.

Libertarianism will not be instantiated if the culture does not support it.  It doesn’t matter how “objectively moral” it is.  If people with the means to enforce their views do not want it, it will not happen.

I don’t particularly care for Libertarianism except as a counter-weight, but it’s easy to see that some Libertarians have noticed that the cultural demographics matter when it comes to whether or not there will be Libertarianism.

The memeing (#augmented reality break, #chronofelony, #the year is, etc) serves several purposes…

  1. Provide a break from the politics for people that do like it (which is some of them - the guy tagged in the last post about a children’s rhyme on the cybersecurity of cybernetic augmentations almost immediately liked it)
  2. Lower the tone of the blog from Serious Politics into something more playful (and more closely matching my actual energy/focus/seriousness levels)
  3. Obscure my race and sex, which both constitute potential Discourse Attack Surfaces
  4. Fuck over certain kinds of blog attacks by pre-establishing a range for spontaneous tone-shifting.  Various bad-faith social attacks do not deserve a serious response, but regular counter-attacks are too much effort, too, and silence isn’t always appropriate.  The meme persona is an option for twisting and distorting these attacks into something that their authors did not intend and against which they do not have pre-existing defenses.  (Some people put warding symbols on their blogs for this instead.)  

As for the writing style, it is what it is, you either read it or you don’t.

If you only want the actual serious stuff, I recommend the #flagpost and #policy tags.
