Thanks to this healthcare debacle I’m feeling slightly vindicated in my feeling from last year that while Trump might be unprecedented in some ways as a presidential candidate let alone president, the sheer institutional inertia of the state and the gloriously recalcitrant nature of American politics would stymie his ability to radically reshape the nation.
