“I understand democracy is dangerous,” she said, “but is it really safe to replace the legislature with a group of elected think tanks?”

I was scrolling through Tumblr and saw a vintage photo of a pretty woman saying ‘I hate men. if one of them touch me I will bite his hand off.“

I assumed this was posted by someone who thought it was funny or relatable. There are lots of images and messages on Tumblr like this - light hostility towards men, from attractive women.
I didn’t even notice my anticipation that this was done by someone approving, for an approving audience - until I imagined reversing the genders. If there was an image of a handsome man demonstrating light hostility towards women, I would anticipate that it is done by a radical or tiny group, for a largely disapproving audience. I would be much more shocked.
I don’t like the general social acceptance of hostility towards men, is my point. It’s hypocritical, because that same social acceptance vanishes if the hostility is towards women.
Men are in the process of noticing this, which is why male gender movements (distinct from the movement that is actively opposed to notice this) are popping up.
you’re too orthogonal to me to be my political opposition
I follow you for weird ms paint comics and the futurist pseudo-history. moar of both pls
Also if I’m being honest, I’m pretty sure the latter ask is what the AnCaps are following for.

I for one like the ms-paint comics.
The year is 2042. Following the election of Elon Musk to the office of Hyperpresident, the Mitigated Chaos blog drops text-primary political content entirely and becomes a slice-of-life webcomic about the relationship of two married lesbian cops and their robotic AI dog, Sgt. Sparkums.
Tumblr wanderers sometimes stumble into the distant archives from a time before they were alive, posting callout posts against the ultra-reactionary politics of the year 2018.
A typical day on Rationalist Tumblr.
SAN FRANCISCO—In an effort to reduce the number of unprovoked hostile communications on the social media platform, Twitter announced Monday that it had added a red X-mark feature verifying users who are in fact perfectly okay to harass. “This new verification system offers users a simple, efficient way to determine which accounts belong to total pieces of shit whom you should have no qualms about tormenting to your heart’s desire,” said spokesperson Elizabeth James, adding that the small red symbol signifies that Twitter has officially confirmed the identity of a loathsome person who deserves the worst abuse imaginable and who will deliberately have their Mute, Block, and Report options disabled. “When a user sees this symbol, they know they’re dealing with a real asshole who has richly earned whatever mistreatment they receive, including profanity, body-shaming, leaking of personal information, and relentless goading to commit suicide. It’s really just a helpful way of saying to our users, ‘This fuck has it coming, so do your worst with a clear conscience and without fear of having your account suspended.’” At press time, Twitter reassuredly clarified that the red X was just a suggestion and that all users could still be bullied with as little recourse as they are now.
and somehow homestuck manages to feature all three
because of course it does
I swear to god he has some kind of ancient Egyptian curse. There is always, always one of these whenever something happens. He stole an amulet from a tomb or some shit.
