If I recall correctly, as the number of children per household declines, the amount of parental investment in each child increases along with educational attainment and development.
In other words, aside from other matters (which are not trivial), not having so many children might contribute to the economic development of underdeveloped areas, and thus their ability to have nice things like modern hospitals. Are you against this?
