See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

at least I can claim to have consistently opposed the idea of invading Iraq since before it was even suggested, on the following eminently sensible grounds:

- you know Bush will fuck it up
- and whoever replaces Bush won’t do it any better
- seriously the only way to make Iraq a worse place would be to bomb it
- no it won’t make a wave of progressive democracy sweep across the region
- you idiot

I was too young to be all that politically conscious at the time.

I realized what a mistake it was by the time I could vote, and voted accordingly, though I didn’t participate in any sort of anti-war protests.  The anti-war protesters are not my people.

Of course, then the guy after him allowed the destabilization of Libya and undermined the idea of the U.S. making agreements that offer any protection if one doesn’t have nuclear weapons.

@silver-and-ivory

do you make the drawings yself
(they’re actually really good)

Yeah, I draw the stuff in the #the mitigated exhibition tag.  I use my old tablet and CS4.

It’s not my primary specialization.  Regular artists, with another thousand hours of practice or more, can do a lot more a lot faster.  I could produce some of what others produce as speed paintings or similar, but it would take me about 10-20x as long, possibly longer.

Then again, do I even have a primary specialization?

Anyhow, I recommend that everyone practice drawing a little, as it’s a useful tool for self-expression and communication.

It would be interesting to see other artist takes on the Union Girl character.

It’s possible for a dead character to have great influence on the plot without being undead or some other form of not-really-dead.

In real life, such things are echoes, or mechanisms setup beforehand.

Many years ago, I observed a discussion between an acquaintance and his father.  The father said that the shows the son watched did not deal with death.  The son said that Dragon Ball Z did deal with death - that the characters had died at such and such time, and were trapped in the spirit realm.  But the father said that, as those characters came back, and so on, that they hadn’t really died, not in the way we understood it, and that the work didn’t really deal with death.

moé makes you more attractive and therefore less approachable

mitigatedchaos answered:

But if you aren’t attractive enough, then people won’t want to approach you.

Ah, the horseshoe theory of attractiveness.

@isaacsapphire

That’s apparently an actual thing. Women who are naturally really attractive don’t have a lot of approaches because of intimidation.

And they can’t necessarily trust the approaches because the kinds of guys who aren’t intimidated might be… let’s just say jerks.

I can promise, however, that I’m not pretty enough to frighten people away from approaching me.

age 11: worry about internet people finding me in real life
now: worry about people in real life finding me on the internet

Yeah, I have to admit, I’m actually a lot more boring in real life and a lot more colorful, liberated, and free on the internet.

Anonymous asked:

what's your type, and how do i accomplish my new life goal of becoming as similar to it as possible?

Based on previous relationships, my ‘type’ is subbish bisexual nerd women who I can talk to for hours on end (at least at the beginning).

My first girlfriend and I spent a lot of time together, hmn, let’s call it developing video game content piecemeal.  Also worldbuilding.  Lots of worldbuilding.  And various other things.

But that isn’t necessary in specific.  That’s just something that happened.

Like, I could name out an exact list of traits and so on, but these things aren’t usually cut and dry like that.  They have to be felt out a little.

This is not intended to be as condescending a question as it reads, but I was wondering if you've studies public policy in university or if you have any qualifications relating to policy or political theory?

My major in university was originally Political Science, and then Political Science/Philosophy/Economics, before I switched to Computer Science, after I started selling some software/3D trinkets, so to speak.  I’ve taken classes in international law, comparative politics, intellectual property, economics, and so on.

But my education in those fields is incomplete, and I’m not entirely well-suited to them.

This is a wildcat politics blog.  I have no blogging license, nor sanction from the establishment.

I’m not approved by your mother, your progressive liberal friends, or the New York Times.  I’ve been compared to Neoreaction, I cannot be cited in arguments, and even if you wanted to cite me, my identity is a deliberate mystery - though I suppose that last part isn’t new in politics.

Of course, what did the Establishment get us?  The Iraq War?  Meddling in Libya and in Syria?  Migration crisis in Europe, and then refusing to acknowledge the issues it causes?  Housing shortages paired with high immigration?  And what advice do they offer the cities of the interior, but to wither and die?

Some benefit, they may have gotten us, but something better than them must exist somewhere, or some time in the future.  Liberal Democracy, in its modern incarnation, is not the end of history, but Democracy means that we all practice politics.
