See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

So with the Antifa ripping down a confederate statue, perhaps Social Justice Capture the Flag is back from a few years ago.

And with that, perhaps they will all switch over to doing property crimes instead of wailing on each other with bats and bike locks and what-have-you, and tensions will de-escalate.

Hopefully.  I mean if that does happen it’s probably worth the price of a few statues.

in the past I kind of dissed Greg Egan for overlooking the possibility of Islamic terrorism, but his (fictional) predictions of resurgent Aryan Nationalist groups in the near future seem increasingly reasonable, even if he didn’t quite get the memetic background entirely right, focusing more on a kind of New Age woo than the clusterfuck of retreads from the 1930s mixed with Pepe memes that we actually ended up with.

one of the things that does feel very real is the concept of “science” treated as a political football getting kicked around by nominally leftist and rightist groups whose connection to reality grows ever more tenuous

mitigatedchaos

Well, when you combine people getting excited about demographic replacement with people who still pretty unapologetically believe in Collective Ethnic Intergenerational Justice, then of course ethnic majority ethnic nationalism is going to rise.

If you got dudes talking like they’re going to take ‘revenge’ for stuff that happened decades or even centuries ago, well, that’s the basis of a lot of “ethnic tension” and ethnic violence.

another prediction was that widespread genetic testing would end up getting picked up by ethnoracial nationalists as an ironclad way of determining group membership, particularly focused on Y chromosome inheritance, thus you’re either a descendant of the historical Father of the People or the interloping usurper descendant of some barbarian rapist; thankfully that idea hasn’t got off the ground yet

mitigatedchaos

We’ll have genetic engineering by the time it would have taken off, I think, which is going to weird effects on the whole race politics thing.

Hopefully good ones.  If we’re lucky (and we might actually be in this one particular case), we may be able to patch the genes of adults, too.

Though we are seeing what appears to be the emergence of a pan-national white identity in Europe, probably in response to all the migration, and all the things that go along with that migration that we’re not supposed to talk about.

I’ve outlined strategies to manage those things we’re not supposed to talk about, including banning cousin marriage and executing honor killers.

If that got under control, the emergence of this new identity might be stopped or slowed.

Of course, I don’t think that will happen, and instead we’ll get American race politics in Europe.

if you’ve really got a brainboner for “white” culture there’s nothing stopping you from participating in any number of activities related to language, music, dance, religion, stories, martial arts, food, historical reenactment; these are all perfectly valid and in fact often celebrated, not something that gets you sent to the gulag.

prudencepaccard

not white qua white–since that’s one thing the CRT people get right, whiteness itself is basically just defined by white supremacy, there’s no there there (it is, as TUOC says, a category error)

it’s the members of the whiteness coalition who have the language, music, etc. Celebrating whiteness qua whiteness actually is not gonna be celebrated, because that pretty much will take the form of pure distilled racism. And the people who say they’re not allowed to do that–well, they’re not wrong, but there’s a reason they’re not allowed to do it. They basically want to just be racist for the sake of being racist and it’s like, no

mitigatedchaos

Well, it’s similar to “Asian” and “black” in that respect - they are American categories created by a nation where the variety of migrations reduced each group to their barest, most obvious similarities.

(And of course, going by migrations, the various whites are different groups, thus tumblr resident elementarynationalism trying to get the Poles counted as white by the other racial nationalists bumps into the legacy the legacy of the Third Reich and other stuff.  Which is kind of amusing to watch, since the infighting prevents them from actually getting any kind of coherent power to make Britain white.)

And one could do a “White Festival” in the same sense one did an “Asian Festival”, and have a Polish booth, an Italian booth, a booth with terrible British food, etc.  But in America, people aren’t quite “from” those cultures anymore, and after enough generations they aren’t really “from” Japanese culture either, which is how a unified “Asian” identity is even possible given historical attitudes in the region.

(And for a friend or two of mine, it isn’t clear just what booth they’d be at at the “Asian Festival”.)

There are still some rates of difference and ethnicity, but it’d be a bit strange.  Birdwatching, apparently, is a thing we’d need for our Not-Numbingly-Racist Post-European Cultural Whiteness Festival.  And even then, it isn’t purely a white activity, just one which is apparently lopsidedly white.

But on the other hand, I don’t think the “end whiteness” people are actually…  I don’t think they actually want to dissolve whiteness back into its constituent parts or into nothing, and they don’t want to dissolve blackness or Asianess, either.

From what I can see, they still believe in intergenerational ethnic collective justice.  Trying to end a unified American white identity necessarily requires discarding the idea of intergenerational ethnic collective justice, and if you believe that individuals now owe payment for ancestors past as a group, then you still very much believe in whiteness, just in a negative form.

It’s real.

Some of y’all have some updating to do.

Right, so, for a while there was a time where white people kinda forgot they were white. Maybe not completely, but it wasn’t really a pillar of identity that they thought about much. Any stuff where (1) whites are on a ‘team,’ and (2) that team is the enemy team, carries the risk of white racial conscious reawakening. This is bad. If white people are made painfully aware of their own whiteness, they might decide to defend it rather than be tied to the infinite moral debt that gets tied primarily to them and at best maybe the Japanese if someone is particularly consistent. (And not the Mongols or anyone else, for some reason.)

Applying collective ethnic intergenerational justice is bad in general, because it leads to ethnic revenge killing cycles, but also you cannot simultaneously take away the achievements of ancestors while applying the guilt of ancestors.

Edit: Of course, it’s still necessary to talk about racism, but it has to be talked about in terms of the here and now.

(Reblogging to my side blog because I don’t want to inflict my followers with discourse)

I think that the highlighted comment is likely merely humorous cynicism, just how sometime people will jokingly support humanity’s extinction. I don’t think we should actually read into it that the author supports genocide.

isaacsapphire

Nobody would accept “it’s a joke” as an explanation if the group mentioned wasn’t either Whites or Men.

Rape jokes aren’t just jokes, racist jokes and sexist jokes aren’t just jokes, unless they’re targeted at Whites or Men, then they’re jokes.

mitigatedchaos

It can be a joke, where the presumption of good will exists, but that presumption has been evaporating and cannot really exist for those who believe in collective intergenerational ethnic justice. Part of the reason some of my jokes here take a turn for the absurd is to communicate that they are jokes.

Harvard University has been named in a complaint by a group of several dozen Asian Americans claiming discrimination in the university admissions process. They make the statistically justified claim that Asians need higher grades and test scores to be admitted.

Yet despite the alleged injustice, more than 20 per cent of the students admitted are Asian American, while Asian Americans make up only about 6 per cent of the US population. Since one can expect ability to be evenly distributed across all ethnic groups, this looks less like injustice than a problematical definition of “better-qualified”.

if your academic results don’t qualify you to get into Harvard, why should your Harvard results qualify you to get into anything else ya fuckin’ walnut

mitigatedchaos

Just do it by socio-economic status and ignore race entirely.  Insomuch as socioeconomic status is not distributed equally by race, this will alter your school’s incoming social balance.

But of course, you, thinking it’s about work times ability, are ignoring that the purpose of Harvard is to some degree about politics and connections, not advancing the national interest through maximizing graduating class economic potential.

In other words, just what is it that Harvard qualifies one to get in to?  Perhaps not the same thing as MIT.

Maybe I'm just biased by having a singular ginger family member, but gingers are really more like being gay than being a race. Maybe we need to raise a distinction between de novo gingers and ethnic gingers (who are more commonly known as the Irish, as I understand it).

The early Twenty-First Century was a time of many unusual ginger-themed political movements, including the Ginger Nationalist Movement, the Principality of Sea-Ginger, and the “One Red Hair” Club.
