You become a real American the moment you stop worrying about how you’re not a real American, and start worrying about how everybody who disagrees with you isn’t a real American.
I mean honestly, if they’re really thinking about this so much, they’re probably fine.
Just make sure to be familiar with some of the country’s metaphorical (not literal) founding DNA and the principles of how it functions and remains prosperous, and don’t keep only to your own kind. Hang out with others outside your ethnicity, take part in the various shared cultural rituals, use the shared language.
Not insignificant odds that it’s like scrupulosity, but for immigration into a non-ethnonationalist polity.
And this is me saying this. I’m more Nationalist than like 90% of you guys around here.
